The Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey at University Hospital provides NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center services such as access to the most advanced cancer treatment options and clinical trials to the residents of the greater Newark region to improve outcomes for patients and their families impacted by cancer.

The Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services (RCAAS) offers adults with Autism spectrum disorder a one-of-a-kind support program that makes an independent and fulfilling life possible. Simultaneously, it advances research and ensures that each year, a cadre of graduates leaves Rutgers prepared to enter careers in support of this underserved population. Located on Douglass Campus, the RCAAS is a center within the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. It features four distinct, yet collaborative programs that are designed for adults on the autism spectrum with diverse support needs.

Within the School of Arts and Sciences, the Rutgers Centers for Chinese Studies sponsors, coordinates, and promotes all China-related academic activities at Rutgers–New Brunswick. The center is a major source for scholars and the public to acquire a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of China, both historical and contemporary. Rutgers has a group of active scholars in various areas of Chinese studies across a wide range of academic disciplines.

Within the School of Arts and Sciences, the Rutgers Center for Cognitive Science (RuCCS) is an internationally-recognized cognitive science center that has been fostering interdisciplinary collaborations for more than twenty-five years. RuCCS faculty with intersecting interests from numerous disciplines come together to carry out innovative and transformative research in the complex field involving the mind and brain. RuCCS collaborations create an enriched student experience that engages research at the intersection of the Arts and Sciences, and uniquely prepares the next generation of Cognitive Science scholars. Through our undergraduate major and undergraduate minor, RuCCS provides interdisciplinary training and research experiences with pioneers in the field. In addition, in the Graduate Certificate in Cognitive Science program, doctoral students learn about areas outside of their specialization and conduct research with faculty members who introduce them to novel ideas and techniques.

The Rutgers Center for Emergent Materials supports inter-institutional collaborative research programs on scientifically important and technologically relavent materials among Rutgers, NJIT and industrial laboratories throughout New Jersey. The center also fosters interdisciplinary education for postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students as well as high school students.

Housed at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, the Rutgers Center for Green Building conducts applied research utilizing planned and existing green building projects, works with industry and government to promote these concepts, and develops undergraduate, graduate, and professional education programs.

The Rutgers Center for Historical Analysis was founded by the School of Arts and Sciences Department of History as a center dedicated to interdisciplinary research, teaching, and outreach. The center is organized around a series of two-year projects led by Rutgers faculty that explore issues of broad contemporary relevance from historical perspective. Each year, the center welcomes several visiting senior and postdoctoral fellows who join Rutgers faculty and graduate students in weekly seminar discussions and annual conferences around the project theme. In addition to its theme-driven projects, the center also hosts an ongoing seminar and lecture series in Black Atlantic History.

The Rutgers Center for Lipid Research is part of the New Jersey Institute for Food, Nutrition, and Health that promotes multidisciplinary research on the biochemical, biophysical, cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in lipid metabolism, and extending this information to the underpinnings of lipid-based diseases such as obesity, lipodystrophy, diabetes, and heart disease. The center's research utilizes model organisms, cells, and tissues, and state-of-the-art instrumentation.

The Rutgers Center for Organizational Leadership is a national leader and resource for Rutgers University and the higher education community. The center provides a portfolio of offerings for current and aspiring academic and administrative leaders seeking to development and enhance their leadership, communication, and organizational competencies. As a hub for academic leadership development research and initiatives, the center's signature offerings aim to improve individual and collective leadership capacity and cultivate a culture of leadership development across the university.

The Rutgers EcoComplex "Clean Energy Innovation Center" is dedicated to moving inventions from the lab to successful real-world applications and to promote New Jersey as a center for clean energy and environmental innovations and enterprises.
